We realized after recording that we didn't discuss another hot topic about Gamora, when Drax called her a whore. We chatted over FB messages and here is a summary of our POVs:
Margaux:
Is it in the prison cell? Because I think, and I've read something that goes with my opinion, that people call Gamora the Green Whore. We know that those people are angry at her and are using any kinds of insults to get to her. I think Drax is just following that movement of people calling her that, without really understanding the meaning behind it. ALSO, whore can also describe a venal or unscrupulous person (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/whore) or, you know, someone seeking the immoral, but here it would describe murderer maybe. I don't know, I don't think it's meant in a bad way, I mean in the movie it's meant to hurt her, considering the environment and the poor choices of insults, but I believe that it's more to describe her as immoral and a murderer (please don't kill me haha). Also, Drax takes everything literally, that third definition would be the one used, I think
Hadas:
Many people say, they could have chosen a word that doesn't usually connotate sexual behavior. I guess I agree, but I'm not too bothered because he is so literal and he also called our beloved Groot a dumb tree.
Charee:
I don't really blame, Drax. I mean, of course he shouldn't call her a whore, but she and her "family" are responsible for killing his family. I agree that he did say it to hurt her, even if he might not understand it's full meaning. But he more than makes it up to her when he saves her life and announces them as friends. I don't think people should be making a huge deal out of this.
